I'd looked forward to shooting this wedding for more than a year. Mainly because of the relaxed and easy going nature of the couple. I knew it was going to be a relaxed and fun day. We had met up a couple of times during the lead up to the wedding and had spoken on the phone quite a bit and I just sensed a calm and relaxed vibe from them. From the time I arrived at the bride's house in the morning there was a fun and excited energy. No stress - no dramas.

Another reason I was looking forward to this wedding was that the wedding ceremony, location photos and wedding reception venue were all within a couple of hundred metres from each other. So once I'd driven back to the city for the ceremony at Hyde Park Barracks, I could just park my car and wouldn't need it again til after the wedding reception. I've always found that the most stressful part of shooting a wedding is the logistics of driving from place to place - not the actual shooting. So to have everything within walking distance was an absolute bonus. Plus while walking through the city en route to the reception venue we stumbled upon an awesome little laneway with a wall that had some old 1930's paintwork. I'd driven past this lane hundreds of times in city traffic and never noticed it. We got some of my favourite pics of the day there and I've returned there since to take other wedding couples.

Anyway, I loved shooting this wedding from start to finish. It was a fun day out.
